Synopsis

Marta lives in an isolated house outside a small village in the mountains. It’s a secluded home surrounded by dense forest, where access is difficult. It’s the perfect place to hide her secret: she is keeping her family locked up there. Nobody comes in and nobody comes out. A simple rule that Marta has established to protect them from the outside world, which, in her twisted view, is overrun by the evil of humanity.
To ensure things stay as they are, Marta uses a system that prevents Elena, her mother, an elderly woman suffering from dementia, from running away from home.
However, it has not been necessary to use this system with Oscar, her eight-year-old son, because he only knows the reality that his mother has created for him, and he feels at ease in it. In her own way, and in an extremely dark, warped fashion, Marta has managed to make her own dreams come true: she has a family to love and care for.
But this stability is shattered when an intruder, someone even more dangerous and disturbed than herself, stumbles in on Marta’s home…
