Carolina is a naive, charming, young girl, who meets Leo in a chat room. He is an adult man, who is tricking her by passing himself off as a 16-year-old boy. Now, he’s managed to arrange a date with her at a remote city park. But when Leo meets Carolina, he starts to suspect that she might not be as innocent and harmless as she appears.
Fake identities, police operations, manipulation and dark desires will be the backdrop to this faceto-face encounter, in an ambience somewhere between fairy tale and thriller, in one very hot month of August.
"Maqueda shows his talent for balancing the disturbing with the thrilling." - Variety
"A fairy tale of wolves, little red riding hoods and impenetrable forests. Brilliant, uncomfortable, irresistible. Manolo Solo is colossal. The first fictional feature directed by Maqueda is, without a doubt, the start of something big.”- El Mundo
"The most perverse film at the Malaga Film Festival. As is always the case with a good thriller, it stays one step ahead of the audience at all times. It will delight the most twisted of minds. A defining moment for Manolo Solo, in the best performance of his career." - Cinemanía
"Devilishly entertaining. Pablo Maqueda is currently one of the most interesting directors on the Spanish scene. Manolo Solo and Laia Manzanares are outstanding. Maqueda’s star shines bright behind the camera.”- La Razón
"One of the most interesting film debuts in recent years." - Libertad Digital
“A kind of cross between Mantícora and Hard Candy. A dark film that goes where few are brave enough to venture. Thank God for films that take us to places we’ve never been.” - El Cultural
