'Truman' and 'El Rey de la Habana (The King of Havana)', winners at the Gaudi Awards

Yesterday, l’Acadèmia del Cinema Català celebrated the 8th edition of the Gaudi Awards. Two films competing in the Official Selection at the last Festival, Cesc Gay’s Truman, and Agustí Villaronga’s El Rey de la Habana (The King of Havana) were the big winners of the edition.

Truman, acclaimed at the Festival’s 63rd edition with the Best Actor Award ex aequo for Ricardo Darin and Javier Cámara, carried off most prizes at last night’s Gaudi Awards with a total of six: Best Film in non-Catalan Language, Best Director, Best Screenplay (Cesc Gay and Tomàs Aragay), Best Male Leading Role (Ricardo Darin), Best Supporting Actor (Javier Cámara) and Best Supporting Actress (Dolores Fonzi). 

El Rey de la Habana (The King of Havana), winner at the Festival of the Best Actress Award for Yordanka Ariosa, now wins the Gaudi Awards in the categories of Best Photography (Josep Maria Civit), Best Editing (Raúl Román), Best Original Music (Joan Valent) and Best Wardrobe (María Gil and Sonia Segura).
